Ok, this may sound odd …but here goes.. I am a very out of shape 60 yo… but, the spirit is young. I would?

like to do the Peachtree Road race next year and have never run a step in my life. Is it too late for me to even think about training for this 10k? How do I begin training for this marathon? My 16 yo granson said he would do it with me so I have a running partner, but he is not here to train with, Any suggestions to help motivate this gramma? First project….buying new running shoes!! Ok, now its one foot in front of the other … can this really be that bad …quite a lofty goal for someone like me, huh??
I think it’s great!!!! I met a 72 year old lady that just did her first triathlon….if she can do it, so can you!!! 
It’s a lot more mental than physical. Check out some website for beginner marathons and beginner running…some have free programs to get you started in the right direction without over doing it.
